Owen is 21 Months!

I feel like this picture captures his personality perfectly!

He is spunky, energetic, entertaining, interested in everything, loves to move, and most importantly, HAPPY.
He makes funny sounds all the time just to hear us laugh.
He loves making animal noises and learning new things.
He is discovering shapes and colors and loves to point out all the colors he sees while we are in the car.
He gets frustrated when he can't figure something out right away... patients is going to be a hard lesson for him to learn.
He loves wearing hats!  And all other accessories!

He is saying "Ooooohhhhhh!!!!!!!!" While watching college basketball.
Already has those sport comments down while the games are on!

This past month Owen and Dylan had their first night away from both me and Jimmy.  My parents are watching them for us in May when we have to go to Colorado for a wedding.  We wanted to do a couple trial nights so the boys felt comfortable being away from us and having my parents take care of them full time.  They did wonderful!  Both slept the whole night and were happy little campers when we came to get them the next morning!  Here are a few cute photos from the weekend that my Dad sent me throughout the evening.  :)

Dylan chillin with Pops!

Snuggin with Mimi!

 Brushin those teeth!

 Breakfast with Pops!

Yeah, I know I'm cool.  ;)

The weather has been warming up a little bit here.  Jimmy likes to take them out on walks/runs when the weather is warm enough.  It also gives me a little break!  I honestly have no idea what to do with myself when they are out, haha.  Here is a cute picture of them in the tandem stroller.

And one in the jogger.  They passed out on the ride!

We have introduced the potty.  He has been telling us when he went potty for awhile and now tells us sometimes when he has to go.  So, we thought it was time to introduce the potty.  He was really scared of the small seat that you put on the big seat.  So, we got him his own little potty.  He is dealing with it well.  I'm not pushing it, especially since he is pretty young.  We'll see how it goes!

Of course, boys will be boys!  I think I'm the only one who thought this was hilarious!

Here are some other cute pictures from the past month!

I can't get enough of those thighs!

Kid loves running around with no pants on!

 Swinging in the back yard!

That's all for now!  Have a wonderful April!

Dylan is 7 Months!

Sleep: Dylan is still sleeping about 12 hours a night.  He goes down to bed at 7:30 and wakes up anywhere from 6:30-8:00.  He now takes two naps a day.  One from 10 - 12 and another from 3-5.  He takes naps exclusively in his crib and has come to love his snuggly little place.

Size:  Dylan has his 6 month appointment a few weeks ago and he was 26 inches long and weighed 18, almost 19 pounds.  Little guy is a chunk - but not quite as chunky as his big brother was!  He is now wearing all 9 month clothes.  We hang around the house in sleepers or one pieces.  They are just easier to change his diaper in.  He also has started to rip his socks off and eat them.  I was going through several pairs of socks a day because his would be drenched in spit and drool!  Unfortunately, he tends to have cold feet (like his Momma), so this is one main reason we have been wearing a lot of sleepers!

Special Visits:  We went down to Virginia Beach to visit some family and friends last weekend.  The boys did pretty good on the trip and were only fussy for a little bit each way.  The boys got to see their grandparents and Uncle Lee!  We also got to catch up with a bunch of friends.  It was so fun to see everyone again!  A lot of Jimmy's friends went to Radford (or visited a lot), so some of them weren't just childhood friends of Jimmy, but college friends of mine.  I also got to see my BEST friend MOLLY!  She lives on the Eastern Shore, so she was able to stop by and visit for a bit.  I miss her so much and had so much fun catching up!

(No, that's not Dylan.  Jimmy's friend has a son.  Our boys were already down for the night)

Firsts:  Dylan is moving ALL over the place.  Not only is he crawling, but he is moving pretty much every which way possible.  He even started to pull himself up and stand while holding on to my leg.  Um, yeah, we're in trouble!

He is eating lost of solids now and has two meals a day of solids.  I'm going to start a third meal in the next week or so and see how that goes.

We started swim lessons with the boys this month!  I wanted to make sure they knew the basics of water safety and felt comfortable in the water, so they didn't freak out at the pool or beach this summer.  The class is for ages 6 months to two years, so we were able to put both of them in the same class!  {Perks of being so close!} They both LOVE swim class!  We were both so shocked to see how much Dylan loved it!  He kicks, splashes, laughs, smiles, and is a little ham in the water!  He is so focused and even does the movements when we practice!  We work on putting their head under water each class and gradually put their face deeper and deeper in the water with each class.  Dylan loves when we dunk him and smiles when he comes back up!

Dylan got his first two teeth!!!  He got the bottom middle teeth about a week ago.  It's so interesting, he got two teeth at a time, like Owen did.  He also got the same two teeth first, that Owen did.  AND he got them at the exact same age.  Owen has always gotten two teeth at a time, so we'll see if Dylan follows him in the pattern as well.

He had his first real swing ride at the park, needless to say, he loved it!

Likes:  Dylan loves to MOVE!  He has almost outgrown a lot of the baby contraptions that keep them in one place.  He is also very determined.  Once he has his mind on something, he doesn't stop moving until he gets it!  He loves to explore and discover new things, and lately he has been obsessed with air vents.  I put a basket filled with toys over one in our living room and he tips the basket over and moves it out of the way so he get play with the vent.  He also loves his passy... he will usually have that thing in his mouth almost all day.

Daddy got him this shirt on a work trip.

Ready for a night out.... Or bed, hah.

Rolling around in the front yard while Owen plays soccer.

Owen insists on Dylan wearing this hat!

Wearing his big brother's sun glasses!

 Snuggling with Daddy!

Grooooovin!

We had Dylan's 6 month pictures taken at our house with our photographer, Ali.  She took some absolutely precious photos.  I can't wait to hang them up in our house!  Here is the link to her blog she did about our session:  http://alicaudill.com/2014/03/judi-jimmy-owen-and-dylan/

We are all excited for the warm weather!  Hopefully it stays warm... Happy Spring!

Love,

Judi
