Dylan is 11 Months!

Here is a montage of just how difficult these monthly pictures have become...

I don't want to sit in this chair!!!

Oh, wait... the remote!

Yummmmy remote!

Wait a second, what is THAT?!?

Give me back the remote!!!

Oh, hey!  Daddy is playing hide and seek!
And this was with me taking the pictures and Jimmy trying to distract Dylan and make him smile.  Yeah, two people...

Sleep: Dylan still sleeps 11-12 hours a night.  He has phased out the morning nap and now only naps once a day from 12 to 2.  He does go down for bed a little earlier, more at about 7:00 instead of 7:30, since he is only taking one nap now he gets tired a little earlier.

Size:  Not sure... I am guessing he is 22 pounds and 28 inches long?  He has his one year appointment beginning of September, so I'll know for sure then.  He is wearing size 4 diapers and all 12 month clothes.

Special Visits:  We didn't have any special visits this month, but we did have a special trip!  We went to Myrtle Beach for a week with my family.  We had so much fun and loved seeing the boys explore new things.  Dylan loved the beach and the pool (he is such a water baby).  He wouldn't stop eating the sand... you'd think he would stop after he ate it once and discovered it didn't taste good!  Nope, dude kept on eating it.  Maybe he liked the salty taste!

Just sharing a banana with Pops on the balcony.

The pool has a really shallow end where little kids can play.  D loved crawling in the water!

Jimmy was so good, swimming with D most of the time!

Owen loved kicking the water and splashing in the shallow end.

Swimming with Dada!

Chillin on the balcony.

Carousel time!  D was in awe of all the things to look at.

We went to the aquarium again this time.  Owen loves watching all the fish!

Clam baby!

Clam baby #2!

I love the clouds in this picture.  No filter!

Boy on the beach.

Owen loved dumping the sand all over himself!

Car ride home from the beach, mind you, it's a 1 mile drive...

Annnd #2 is passed out as well.

Firsts:  Dylan is WALKING!!!  He took his first steps several days ago.  He has done it a couple more times since.  He likes to hold onto a piece of furniture and walk away from the furniture.  We haven't been able to catch it on video yet, but soon!

He is officially off of all puree foods.  He started refusing them a couple weeks ago and I have been trying to use up all the stuff I made and a few things I had bought for traveling, as to not waste food.  Now and then he will let me feed him a puree.  He is Mr. Independent and only wants to eat food he can pick up and feed himself.  Right now he eats everything we eat for all meals.  I'm savoring this stage and hope it doesn't change.  Owen started out this way and slowly became pickier.

He also said his first word... MAMA!  He usually will only say it when he is upset or wants me to pick him up or feed him.  My heart melts, and of course I oblige... who could deny that little 'mama' voice!

Likes:  Dylan loves to hug.  Each time we get him up from a nap or from bed in the morning he gives us the biggest hug!  He will wrap one arm around our neck and lay his head down and sqeeeeze so tight!  I just hold him for a few minutes and savor that little moment!

He looooves chasing Owen around the house.  When he gets him he just crawls on top of him and tries to hug him.  He loves rubbing his head on Owen or the dogs, I think it's his version of a hug!

Strumming the vent.
What one boy does, the other wants to do too!

Snack time on the deck in our muscle tee's!
I love this picture, they look so much like brothers here!

Speaking of the dogs, he absolutely loves them.  He crawls all over them and grabs their ears and tail.  They are mostly patient, but sometimes get annoyed and walk away.  He cracks up at them for no reason! Haha!

Here are some more sweet moments from this month!

The many faces of D. Rob.

Rip City.
This kid is so strong and muscular.

He fell asleep at lunch today!  Just one cracker left.  :)

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Love,

Judi

Dylan is 10 Months!

So this month's picture was a FAIL.  He immediately ripped off the sticker and crumpled it up.
Oh, well!  It's kind of funny.  :)

Owen kept saying "Me too!" when I was taking D's picture!

Sleep: Dylan's sleep schedule has not changed.  He still sleeps 11-12 hours a night and takes two naps a day.  He will take a short morning nap around 9ish and usually sleeps for about an hour.  Then he takes a longer mid-afternoon nap for about 2 hours.  We are getting closer and closer to phasing out that morning nap.  I think I'll be doing that much sooner with Dylan than I did with Owen.  Dylan just doesn't need as much sleep.

Size:  Not sure if his weight and height this month... but I'm assuming a little bigger than last month (duh).  He is wearing 12 month clothes and we have moved him to size 4 diapers.

Special Visits:  Pawpaw and Grandma came up a few weeks ago to help put together the playset for the boys.  They had a fun time hanging out with the boys, but I didn't get many pictures.  I know they took a bunch though.  We also had all my family over for Father's Day.  They all had a fun time playing!

Firsts:  Dylan is cruising around the furniture like nobody's business!  He has found the walker and started to walk around the house using the walker.  He will also walk while holding onto my hands - no, not even my hands, just my index fingers!  Jimmy and I have bets going as to when he will walk on his own.  I think it will happen before he turns 11 months.

Cruising!
He also climbed all the way, YES, ALL THE WAY, up the stairs by himself.  I was doing dishes and heard Owen saying "Uh oh D!" So I came looking for him and here he was... standing at the top of the stairs holding onto the gate.  Yeah, the gate went back up that evening.

Owen helping him steer the walker.

Playing in the water table for the first time!
He is also using a sippy cup now.  He likes the ones Owen uses with the straw.  He learned this skill in no time, picked it up almost immediately.  He amazes us!

Likes:  He has become much more vocal, squealing and making all kinds of new sounds.  He now says "mamamama" and "dadadada" but we don't think he associates me or Jimmy with those words yet.  He loves going for walks and often falls asleep in the stroller.  It's getting so hot out that we haven't been on many walks lately.  His new favorite thing is to swing!  We put his infant swing on the playset and he will sit in that swing for an hour with a little happy smirk on his face while Owen runs around.  Makes it a lot easier for me to handle both of them outside.  He has become much more physical with Owen too.  He loves to crawl all over him and rough house.  Yes, it has begun!

LOVESSS the remotes.
Loves pulling the towels off of the stove.
Are the cookies done yet?!?
He loves to shake the cabinet doors (they have locks on them) and, of course, Owen joins in too!

Hanging with brother in the play room!

All smiles.

Eating some steamed sweet potato.

Playing with brother through the screen door!

We are heading to the beach tomorrow morning for a family vacation.  Jimmy and I are both so excited to get out of town for a little bit.  I'll probably do a blog post when we return detailing our trip.

Happy summer!

Love,

Judi

I'M TWO!

I can't believe my first little boy is TWO!  It feels like it was just yesterday that I found out he was breech and would need a c-section the next week.  He has filled our lives with so much joy and given more meaning to our lives than I ever thought imaginable.  He has taught me so much about myself and opened the door to a different side of myself I never knew existed.  Being his (and Dylan's) mom is the greatest thing I could ever do with my life!  I feel blessed each and every day by his smile and sweet kind soul.

Owen.... you are lively, energetic, kind, caring, sweet, polite, sometimes cautious, inquisitive, smart, and most importantly, you are the BEST big brother.  You love cars, trains, animals (especially horses), and one of my favorites, you love to learn!  I have so much fun teaching you.  When you learn something new you just take off with it.  You love naming all the different things you see outside the car windows while we are driving.  It is one of my favorite things we do - name all the different objects and colors you see.  You love to watch older kids play and make new friends.  You like to share with your friends, and sometimes share with your brother.  You have shown so much love towards your brother.  The love you have shown others makes me more proud of you than anything else in the world.

You like things in order.  You lined up all the blocks in a straight line.

You love BUBBLES!

Having a snack in the play house!

On the big boy swing.
Are you really this big?!?

Having a snack at your new picnic table on the deck!

Taking a break from water play with your best bud.

Oh, you know, just planking.  You're idea.

Enjoying your first soccer class with Daddy!

You had to pick up all the cones after they were kicked down... Yup, things have to be just right!
(I know, I know, sounds just like me.  ;)

Practicing kicking those cones!

You sat completely still for your entire hair cut!
I can't believe you knew exactly what to do!

Happy 2nd Birthday my sweet boy!

We love you!
