Owen is 23 Months

OWEN!

This has been a fun month for Owen.  We have been getting out of the house every day, whether it be for a walk to the park, a play date with a friend, or an errand to run with Mama.  He has enjoyed getting to feel the sunshine and meet new people.

Jimmy and I went to Colorado for a wedding last weekend and both boys stayed with my parents while we were gone.  They had a blast (my parents and the boys)! Here are a few adorable pictures they sent me throughout the weekend...

Owen got to see the horses, chickens, and goats every single day.  Which, if you know Owen at all, you know this was his dream come true!  He absolutely loves horses.  They had a picnic in the front yard, went on walks, rode the tractor and the ATV... and got spoiled with love and attention from Mimi and Pops!

We went to Burnside Farm for Mother's Day.  I really wanted to do something just the four of us, so we took a trip to this adorable farm about 10 minutes from us.  (Those of you from our area, it's right next to Battlefield High School in Haymarket).  The flowers were so beautiful, although it was towards the end of picking time.  Next year we will have to go about two weeks earlier.  Owen loved running around the tulip fields and seeing all the animals.  He ran straight to the goats and yelled "Goats!!!"  What almost two year old knows exactly what a goat is?!?

I have a few more cute pictures from this month to share...

And one more before I say goodbye...

I think it's safe to say we're related.  ;)

Happy Memorial Day!

Love,

Judi

Dylan is 9 Months!

My little blondie.

Sleep: Dylan's sleep schedule has not changed.  He still sleeps 11-12 hours a night and takes two naps a day.  Lately he has been waking up pretty early in the morning, but tends to make up for it in his naps.

Size:  He is 20 pounds and 28.5 inches long.  That's 50th percentile for height and 60th for weight.  He is wearing some size 9 month clothes, but mostly 12 month clothes at this point.  He is wearing size 3 diapers, but I'm about to move him to the 4's.  Next diaper trip I'll be bringing home 4's for him.

Thunder Thighs!

Special Visits:  One of my best friends from high school came up to VA for a visit (she lives with her husband in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he is a marine and stationed there right now).  She had a baby, Aiden, in December, so we were both so excited for Dylan and Aiden to meet!  They smiled and talked to each other, it was absolutely precious!  I only get to see Lauren maybe once a year (although we have hour long phone sessions about once a month), so I was SO happy to see her and Adam too!

Firsts:  Dylan is crawling like a speed demon.  He is climbing up on everything and moving from one piece of furniture to the next while holding onto things.  The doctor keeps telling me he is going to be an early walker.  We'll see... We call him Strong Man D, he is SO strong.  He is a ripped little baby, he has back muscles that I've never seen before!

We went to Burnside Farm for Mother's Day and picked tulips!
The boys rode in their wagon and checked out the pretty flowers.

Mac and Cheese for the first time!  He was obsessed.
He just got a little bit, and it was Annie's brand.  :)

Likes:  He loves to squeal and make all kinds of noises.  Owen really doesn't like it when Dylan starts squealing, and Dylan knows this.  The sibling instigating has begun.  Dylan will chase Owen squealing and laughing while Owen runs away crying!  Dylan is now starting to eat a lot of soft finger foods.  He LOVES bananas!  He also freaks out when he sees the yellow cheerios box, just like Owen did at his age.  :)

Rummaging through the pantry.  I guess I should get used to this.

Beating on a package of napkins, one of his favorite things to do.

Climbing the stairs, yes, he's doing this already.

He LOVES taking walks and chilling out.
He loves riding in the double cart with Owen!

Hanging with Uncle Aaron!

He loves stealing Owen's snack.

Owen sometimes likes to share.

We are about to be very busy again... Such a fun time of year, but sometimes tiring as well.  I hope everyone is have a wonderful Memorial Weekend!

Love,

Judi

Owen is 22 Months!

Ive been playing around with my camera settings, and captured this sweet moment.  :)

This has been an eventful month for Owen.  We had Easter, spring time and warm weather, and he got a big boy bed!  I think it's best to show this month through pictures, so here it goes!

While everyone was posting cute Easter pictures of their kids smiling and all dressed up on Easter, this is as good as I could get.  Straight chilling in the picture above and getting irritated in the picture below.  I kinda like it though.  :)

Our neighborhood has an Easter egg hunt each year for the little ones.  This was Owen's first Easter egg hunt!  He knew exactly what to do, I was surprised.  And he rocked at collecting those eggs!

I was able to capture one photo of Owen posing on the couch in his Easter outfit.  He crossed his legs and smiled on cue, for ONE picture.  This is it ladies.  :)

Jimmy and I did an Easter egg hunt in our front yard on Easter day.  I filled the eggs with fruit snacks and animal crackers.  He has a blast looking around the yard for all the eggs.

Now that it is getting warmer we are taking a few trips to Effee's.  Owen loves sharing my ice cream.  We eventually did let him get his own.

We had our last swim class this past month and decided to treat the boys (and ourselves, it's so crazy getting them to and from swim class) to Chick-Fil-A afterwards.  You can trade the toy in for an ice cream cone, so we let Owen have at it with an ice cream cone for the first time.  He knew just what to do!

We bit the bullet and bought Owen a big boy bed!  Well, we only had to buy the mattress and box spring.  His crib converts to a full bed.  We took him with us to pick out the mattress and the bedding.  He got to try out the beds and we decided on one together.  Then he kept telling me "Blue!" at Target when we were picking out his new comforter.  We thought that including him in this process would make him excited to sleep in his new bed.  Boy, was he excited!

He had NO problems transitioning!

I used his old crib mattress to make a reading corner in the play room with pillows and stuffed animals.  He likes to sit on it and read his books.  He also likes to jump on it and giggle, haha!

We have another busy month coming up... Hopefully I'll be able to get this blog done in time at the end of this month!

Happy May!

Love,

Judi
